Yuan-Fang Wu: Female, Ph.D., professor, doctoral supervisor. She was awarded “Science and Technology Award for Chinese Youth” in 1994; the Second Class Prize of “Science and Technology Progress Award of Ministry of Education” in 1995; the Cross-Century Excellent Talents Grant Program of the Ministry of Education in 1998; National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Advisor in 2005; “the National Science and Technology First Prize nominated by Ministry of Education” in 2005 (as the second prize winner); the Second Prize of “Natural Science Award of Hubei Province” in 2005 (as the first prize winner); the director of key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2008.

Her research interests are in the areas of high-energy physics and nuclear physics, especially in the subjects of multi-particle productions, correlations and fluctuations at high-energy collisions. She has published numerous academic papers at Phys. Rev. Lett., Phys. Lett. B, Phys. Rev. C, D, E, etc..  She has chaired the following international conferences: “the 31st International conference on Multi-particle dynamics” at Datong (2001), “the 11st international workshop of correlations and fluctuations” at Hangzhou (2006), the 7th international conference on critical point and de-confinement at Wuhan (2011.11).

In 1985, she graduated from the Physics Department of Central China Normal University (CCNU) with a bachelor’s degree.in 1990, she got PhD degree in physics from the Institute of Particle Physics (IOPP), CCNU. She has been working at IOPP since graduated:  a lecturer (1990.7—1992.11), a associate professor (1992.12—1995.3), a professor and doctoral supervisor (1995.3—now). From 1992 to 1993, she visited the Austrian Institute of High Energy Physics, conducted one year of cooperative research. From 1995 to 2010, she visited several universities and institutes as a visiting professor: visited the Institute of High Energy Physics, Nijmegen University twice, (once a year, 1995—1996); Institute of Theoretical Physics, University of Regensburg, Germany (1995.8—1996.7); Department of Physics, University of Oregon, USA (1998.7—1999.7); Brookhaven National Laboratory (2009.12—2010.12). She visited Brookhaven National Laboratory several times for research and cooperation in the next four years (2011.7—2011.8, 2012.7—2012.8, 2013.7—2013.8, 2014.7—2014.8).
