Prof. Yaping Wang, doctoral supervisor, was awarded Ph.D. in physics by Institute of Particle Physics (IOPP) at Central China Normal University (CCNU) in 2008.  He was chosen to CERN as a Visiting Scholar, supported by the government (2008-2009). He was recommended to work at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) as a Postdoctoral Associate (2012-2013), became a Visiting Research Assistant Professor (2013-2014) on a collaborative project between CCNU and UIC. His main research interests are physics analysis and detector R&D in high-energy heavy-ion collisions, and has made significant contributions to the R&D of ALICE/DCal detector and its front-end electronics, R&D of STAR/HFT detector and its heavy flavor physics, R&D of upgrade ALICE/ITS detector. etc.
