Ⅰ、Majors Introduction
College of Physical Science and Technology established of Communication Engineering with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2000, and accepted its first year undergraduates in the same year. Through more than ten years of construction, it has opened several major directions:the professional communication theory and technology, networking technology, application of microwave and RF technology, multimedia information processing and other professional directions. The major has Hubei College electrical and electronic experimental teaching demonstration center, communication engineering laboratories, modern communication technology laboratory, with a vector network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal analyzers, logic analyzers, vector signal source and other large equipments, it can set up all the experimental courses in this major. The major courses of the college are all university-level excellent and main courses. Now, our college has two first-level MA programs: information and communication engineering and electronic science and technology to provide graduate students the training phase.
Ⅱ、Cultivation Target
The major training is to cultivate the students who can master the field of information and communication engineering theoretical knowledge and major skills, with a strong practical ability, so that they can participate in related fields of scientific research such as information and communication, engineering design, and product development, as well as teaching and management.
Ⅲ、Basic Requirements
Graduates of this major are expected to have the following knowledge and skills: 1. Lay a very solid mathematical foundation; 2. Master electronic information, communication engineering, computer science and other basic theories, methods and skills; 3. Has the ability to solve practical problems in the electronics, information technology, network and communications and other fields. 4. Understand the communication discipline theory, application prospect and the latest developments, as well as the development of information and communication industry; 5. Master the basic skills of document retrieval, information inquiry, and the application of modern information technology; 6. Has good spoken and written communication skills, as well as a strong ability to write scientific papers, and can skillfully use a foreign language to communicate with others; 7. Has good humanistic quality and scientific literacy, good psychological quality, a strong spirit of innovation.

Mathematics, physics, circuit theory, analog electronics, digital electronics, signals and systems, single-chip microcomputer and embedded systems, communication electronic circuits, digital signal processing, information theory and coding, communication theory, modern exchange principle, optical fiber communication technology, wireless communications and so on.
